Texas troopers seize $1.4 million in fentanyl and other drugs from a commercial truck at the Laredo border

A commercial driver and passenger were arrested after a port-of-entry inspection turned up 153 pounds of narcotics, including enough fentanyl for nearly 20 million lethal doses.

On September 22, 2026, Texas DPS and CBP inspected a commercial vehicle at the Laredo Port of Entry and found 94 pounds of fentanyl, 26 pounds of methamphetamine, 18 pounds of heroin, and 15 pounds of eutylone worth more than $1.4 million. The driver and passenger were arrested on felony drug charges. The case is still open.
